Lesley Upperton is the main chartered physiotherapist at Helston Physiotherapy and registered with the regulatory body, the HPC.

She qualified in 1979 from St Mary's Hospital in London. Here she developed her interest of musculo-skeletal treatments with Peter Wells, and completed her basic rotational training at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital.

She worked in private clinics in Bedfordshire for many years before moving down to Cornwall. Lesley opened the present clinic in 2005. She has worked locally for the last 16 years and is well-known to local GPs and consultants.

In her spare time Lesley plays golf at Budock Vean golf course. In the past she swam for Sussex, played golf for Bedfordshire and skied for enjoyment. Following major hip and knee surgery she now limits herself to playing clarinet in a local volunteer military marching band and golf twice a week.

As a sole practitioner, Lesley is responsible for your care; you will not be passed on to another physiotherapist who does not know your condition. Lesley usually books hourly appointments as she likes to give plenty of time to assess, treat and get to know her patients' problems and goals, but can tailor shorter appointments to suit. She tries to ensure that the client has a full understanding of their problem and methods to prevent recurrence. Lesley is best pleased when she never needs to see some-one again after treatment (as a patient of course!)
